Golden Cream Chowder

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cup water
  • 1 cup celery, diced
  • ½ cup onions
  • ¼ cup peppers
  • 4 medium potatoes
  • 1 cup carrots, diced
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ cup flour
  • 4 cup milk
  • 2 cup ham, cubed
  • 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions
 

  • Bring water to a boil. Add vegetables and cook until done.
  • Meanwhile, melt butter and add flour. Blend and add milk. Cook over low heat and boil 1 minute. Add sharp cheddar cheese and stir until melted.
  • Add cubed ham. Stir in vegetables and water mixture. Heat through. Better if made one day ahead and reheated on low.
