Homemade Bisquick Mix

Ingredients
  

  • 6 cups (750 g) all-purpose flour or 3 C each all-purpose (375 g) and whole wheat (390 g) flour
  • 3 tablespoons (36 g) baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 cup cold lard, butter, or coconut oil

Instructions
 

  • Sift flour, baking powder and salt three times into a large bowl.
  • Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles fine crumbs.
  • Store mixture in airtight container in the refrigerator up to 4 months. Use whenever a recipe calls for "Bisquick mix."

Notes

Makes approx. 8 cups of mix.
Food Processor Method: Pulse dry ingredients together, then add fat and pulse until the mixture resembles fine crumbs.
