Pizza Crust
Adapted from the Hamilton Beach Breadmaker manual. Makes one 16-inch pizza.
Ingredients
- 1 cup water – warmed to 95°F
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil, vegetable oil, or butter
- 1 cup (130 g) whole wheat flour
- 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons bread machine or instant yeast
Instructions
- Place all ingredients in the breadmaker pan in order listed.
- Choose the Dough Cycle. Press Start.
- At the end of the Dough cycle, remove the dough from the breadmaker. Place dough on floured counter and let the dough rest for 10 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 475°F. Shape into 15 to 16-inch round pizza pan or a half sheet pan.
- Add favorite pizza ingredients and bake 20 to 25 minutes or until crust is browned and cheese is melted.
Notes
Par-bake instructions: Bake crust at 425°F for 10 minutes. Freeze crust or add toppings and bake at 475°F until done (12 to 15 minutes).
Freezing dough: Remove dough from breadmaker and place in a zip-top bag. Remove excess air, label, and freeze. Thaw dough overnight in the refrigerator or for 2-3 hours on the counter. Continue with step 4.
