Skillet Macaroni Pizza
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, coarsely chopped (optional)
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper optional
- 1 can (26.5 oz) Hunt's Italian Sausage Spaghetti Sauce
- 2 ½ cups water
- 3 cups (12 oz) dry elbow macaroni
- 2 cups (8 oz) shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 12 slices pepperoni, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the beef and onion together over medium-high heat, at the same time mixing in the black pepper. When meat is no longer pink and onions are tender, drain.
- Add spaghetti sauce and water to the meat mixture; bring to a boil. Stir in macaroni. Reduce heat to medium; simmer 10-12 minutes, until macaroni is tender.
- Stir in half of cheese (and half of pepperoni, if desired). Top with the remainder. Let stand, covered, for 5-10 minutes, until cheese is melted.
Notes
If using pepperoni, eliminate black pepper.
