Tara’s Alfredo Sauce
Adapted from American and Italian recipes.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Butter
- 2-4 Cloves Garlic minced
- 4 cups Heavy Cream
- 1 teaspoon Basil to taste
- ½ teaspoon Pepper
- Dash White Wine
- ½ teaspoon Salt**
- 2 ½ to 3 cups Parmesan cheese
Optional Ingredients instead of Cream*
- 1 cup Yogurt
- 2 cups Milk
Instructions
- In a sauce pan over medium heat, melt butter.
- Add garlic, cream, basil, pepper, half of wine, and salt**.
- Bring to a low boil and reduce heat to medium low-high low and simmer for 8 minutes. Stir often to keep cream from burning.
- Remove from heat and slowly add cheese.
- Return to stove on low and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, stiring constantly.
- Serve immediately!
Notes
*Optional ingredients for a healthier version.
**Salt not necessary if using salted butter.
