Apple Bars

Ingredients
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 cup Crisco
- pinch salt
- 1 egg separated
- ⅓-⅔ milk
- 8-10 apples sliced
- ⅔ cup sugar
- cinnamon
Instructions
- Combine flour, 1 Tbsp sugar, Crisco, and salt with fork or pastry blender.
- In liquid measuring cup, put 1 egg yolk and enough milk to make ⅔ cup. Beat with a fork and add to flour mixture. Mix
- Roll out to make top and bottom crust for a 12 x 18" pan.
- On bottom crust, add sliced apples. Sprinkle ⅔ cup sugar and cinnamon.
- Add top crust and pinch together sides. With remaining egg white, beat until stiff. Spoon over top crust.
- Bake for 45 minutes at 350℉. Frost with powdered sugar frosting while still hot.
Powder Sugar Frosting

Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp butter softened
- 1 cup (120 g) powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla halve if using Mexican vanilla
- 2 Tbsp milk use more to make a thin glaze
Instructions
- Beat butter until softened. Add remaining ingredients and mix until smooth. Spread or pipe onto baked goods.
