Dinner Rolls / Buns

Adapted from the Hamilton Beach Breadmaker manual.
Makes 16 rolls.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup milk, warmed to 95°F
  • ¼ cup butter, room temperature
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup (50 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (130 g) whole wheat flour
  • 3 cups (375 g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons bread machine or instant yeast

Instructions
 

  • Place all ingredients in the breadmaker pan in order listed.
  • Choose the Dough Cycle. Press Start.
  • At the end of the Dough cycle, remove the dough from the breadmaker. Place on floured counter. Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan. Cut dough in half; then divide each half into 8 pieces. Place in greased pan. Let rise until almost double in size, about 45 minutes.
  • Bake at 375°F for 15 to 20 minutes or until done.

Notes

For Buns: Decrease milk to ½ cup and add ½ cup water. Also decrease butter to 2 Tbsp and sugar to 25 g. Use half sheet pan for baking.
