Ingredients
  

  • 6 cups old fashioned oats
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup wheat germ
  • ½ cup sunflower seeds, shelled
  • ¾ cup cashew halves
  • ½ cup oil
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup raisins

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl combine oats, coconut, wheat germ, (sunflower seeds and cashews, if now, otherwise add later.)
  • Mix together oil, honey, water, salt (omit if nuts are salted), and vanilla. Pour over dry mixture, stir to coat. Spread mixture on two greased baking sheets.
  • Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes – can also try baking at 225° for 30 minutes or longer. Stir frequently and be careful it doesn't get too brown.
  • Add raisins. Cool and store in airtight containers. Makes 2 quarts.
