Wassail
Charles & Carole Bartholomew - Colorado Springs, CO - 1985
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 3 slices lemon
- 2 cups pineapple juice
- 2 cups orange juice
- 6 cups red wine
- ½ cup lemon juice
- 1 cup sherry optional
- 2 lemons sliced
Boil sugar, cinnamon sticks, and lemon slices in ½ cup water for 5 minutes.
Strain, and discard cinnamon sticks and lemon slices.
Combine all remaining ingredients and heat but do not boil.
Mix in cinnamon syrup, ladle into cups, garnish with lemon slices, and serve hot.
